Three new paintings

June was a busy month for me with three large new paintings completed. The theme of which are based on ‘wardrobe dilemma’. In order to capture the array of textures and colours I used printmaking and stencil techniques as close ups reveal below.

Current Works on Paper

It’s a challenge to return to painting on paper. Why? It encourages me to draw with immediacy and discipline. On handmade paper there are no second chances unlike canvas which may be overpainted and honed over time and layers.
These works are playfully based on flora and vegetables and my aim was to reduce images to shape and line.
All of the images below are painted on Fabriano paper size 50 x 70 cm. Six of the works are already framed and ready to hang.
For availability and, a closer view go to ‘Paintings’.
